The White Gate – the core of the brand

The new identity is based on the white gate – a symbol through which for decades enterprising people have taken a step towards their future. It marks the boundary between today and tomorrow, dreams and skills, ignorance and confidence. Read more about the brand story here.

SISTERING board member Katrīna Bartkeviča: “When we started working on the development of the LBTU Malnava College brand guidelines, at the first working group meeting we heard the “white gate” emphasized as an important symbol of the college. Although at first we did not realize that this would be the main metaphor that would run through the entire brand story, over time it organically crystallized as one of the main points of contact on which to build.”

What is included in visual identity development?

Visual identity development is a process in which a unified visual language is created for an organization and the principles of its use are determined across all communication channels. Sistering SIA bases this process on target audience and competitor analysis so that the solution clearly reflects the essence of the organization.

The identity of Malnava College includes:

  • logo and variations of its use
  • color palette
  • pictograms
  • social media visual solutions
  • corporate and presentation materials
  • brand guidelines

A full description of the identity elements and the principles of their use is summarized in the brand book, see here.

This range of materials ensures a unified, modern and recognizable image at all points of contact with the college's target audiences.

SISTERING board member and project manager Marta Vorkale: “Educational institutions of this level are very important in Latgale, and Malnava College offers professional education to real doers who need to gain practical knowledge.”

Why an organization needs a well-organized visual identity

A strong visual identity and clear brand structure help an organization speak a common language with customers and partners. It reduces randomness in communication: every material looks and sounds recognizable, regardless of the channel.

In the case of Malnava College, the new identity demonstrates its values – professionalism, community strength and growth. The investment in visual identity pays off both in the recognition and the credibility it builds in the long term.
